About this project
What this system is, the philosophy that built it, and how to get the most out of reading it.
This site is a knowledge portfolio: an interface to an engineering knowledge system. It is not a blog, not documentation, not a portfolio in the hiring sense. The knowledge is the product; the interface exists only to help you think.
Why it exists#
Engineering understanding accumulates in layers — an article rests on measurements, measurements rest on sources, decisions rest on failed alternatives. Most publishing formats flatten those layers into a feed. This system keeps them intact: every document carries its relations, its references, and its revision history, so you can reconstruct not just what is known here but how it came to be known.
How to read it#
- Compass (left rail) reconstructs your path through the system this session. It is navigation memory, not breadcrumbs — it answers how did I get here?
- Relations (end of every document) show the engineering connections of what you're reading — what it extends, depends on, implements. They answer where else does this live?
- Search (
⌘K) covers everything: articles, notes, projects, references, decisions. - Sections have different contracts. Articles are finished thinking. The Notebook is working data. Thinking Too Loud is explicitly unfinished. Projects are artifacts with decisions attached.
The rules it holds itself to#
- No marketing, no personal branding, no engagement machinery — no likes, shares, follower counts, or newsletter popups.
- Typography is the primary design tool; color only ever carries meaning.
- Every visual element must answer why does this exist? — decoration that doesn't aid understanding is removed.
- Claims carry references; measurements carry methodology; drafts are labeled as drafts.
Who it's for#
Engineers who read source code for answers and documentation for context. If you've ever wished a technical website felt less like a feed and more like a well-maintained repository, this was built for you.
